DAF-FPAC40 for physical-chemical treatment in a WWTP in Portugal

SIGMADAF has supplied a DAF-FPAC40 unit to act as Physical-Chemical treatment in an industrial water treatment plant (WWTP) in Portugal.

The WWTP has been designed, assembled, and completely commissioned by AGUASIGMA's technical team of SIGMA GROUP.

This DAF-FPAC40 acts as a clarifier in a physical-chemical treatment process for wastewater resultant from the treatment of leather for the manufacture of footwear. The flotation equipment is made of AISI-304.

Case Study: Wastewater treatment in a waste recovery plant

A waste processing and recovery plant required a wastewater treatment solution to avoid the excessive entry of suspended solids into its biological water treatment.

The company in question manages industrial waste through various lines of services: phase separation, physical-chemical and biological treatment, preparation of liquid fuels and, in addition, it is a transfer centre for waste contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).

The industrial wastewater processed in the treatment plant (EDARI) of this waste recovery plant contains high loads of solid, dangerous and non-dangerous pollutants, which require elimination before biological treatment.

The water flows of the WWTP are about 5-10 m3/ h and the total loads of suspended solids (TSS) to be treated are 2000 mg / L, being able to reach peaks of 4000 mg / L.

Case Study: Ice Cream Factory

An industrial ice cream manufacturing plant required a solution for the treatment of wastewater as a product of the manufacture of ice cream, in order to comply with the discharge limits to the sewer network.

It is a factory located in Valencia with more than 20 years of tradition manufacturing ice cream and marketing its products throughout Spain.

According to EPSAR, the maximum water sanitation entity of the Valencian Community, the limits of wastewater discharge are 500 mg / L for suspended solids and 1000 mg / L for Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), as the parameters most relevant to the present case study.

Advantages of DAFs as biological sludge thickeners in WWTP

This DAF equipment will operate in the sludge line of the municipal domestic wastewater treatment plant, highlighting the versatility of our flotation equipment.

A biological combined treatment for wastewater in the freezing industry

One of the most important challenges of the industries, in general, is to be able to meet the requirements that the administration demands for the wastewater discharges as a product of its industrial activity.

This was one of the issues raised by Congelados Navarra, one of the largest producers of frozen vegetables and a reference in the sector in Europe.

A company that has maintained an important sustained growth during the last years, with a consolidated national and international expansion plan, which has led them to obtain a growing need of extension and improvement in the wastewater treatment facilities of their different production centers.

On the other hand, Congelados Navarra has planned, within its strategic objective of continuous improvement and optimization of resources, to carry out a program of evaluation of the manufacturing processes in such a way that water consumption per unit produced has been reduced.

One of the most important challenges, in terms of the environment and water treatment, that the company faced was that of its main plant in Fustiñana (Navarra).

The frozen food company needed its facilities to comfortably comply with the new requirements requested by the administration and, also, with the lowest possible energy consumption, sludge generation, and environmental impact.

The technological solution that has been installed is a combined process of Anaerobic Treatment RANC, followed by the Aerobic process called Sigma FBR (Flotation Biological Reactor).

Manufacture of 2 DAFs for desalination pretreatment at Power Plant in Saudi Arabia

SIGMADAF has manufactured for a major client in Saudi Arabia, 2 DAF-FPHF350 with a maximum treatment capacity of 880 m3 / h.

The function of these types of equipment is to act as a pre-treatment of seawater in a desalination plant for the operation process of a Power Plant. These DAFs are designed to remove more than 90% and 98% of oils and fats, and algae respectively.

Carbon neutral target with anaerobic waste biodigesters

Aware that our activity - on the one hand - benefits the sustainability of water resources, but - on the other hand - large amounts of energy are used to carry it out, we are currently developing several projects for waste biodigester plants.

These biogas plants will contribute to minimizing our carbon footprint until neutralizing it, our strongest purpose with the environment.

Supply of a DAF-FBC50 for the treatment of metalmechanical wastewater in Valencia

SIGMADAF has supplied a DAF-FPBC50 equipment to treat the processed waters of a processing and galvanizing plant in the province of Valencia.

The main activity of a galvanic plant is the deposition of metals by electricity (electrodeposition), involving a chemical process in an aqueous solution.

This plant in Valencia produces hot-dip galvanized sheet steel parts, mainly intended for the automotive sector.

Wastewater treatment plant to remove pigments

Facilities

Wastewater treatment in the textile industry, where pigments, dyes and paints are made is complex due to the necessary removal of heavy metals present in the water.

For this project, in which a DAF-FPBC50 was installed, the treatment of these complex waters consists in the removal of ammonium by stripping followed by a DAF Dissolved Air Flotation System after adding lime, coagulant and flocculant.
