Manufacture of 2 DAFs for desalination pretreatment at Power Plant in Saudi Arabia
SIGMADAF has manufactured for a major client in Saudi Arabia, 2 DAF-FPHF350 with a maximum treatment capacity of 880 m3 / h.
The function of these types of equipment is to act as a pre-treatment of seawater in a desalination plant for the operation process of a Power Plant. These DAFs are designed to remove more than 90% and 98% of oils and fats, and algae respectively.

In this article we will explain the process to produce this equipment specifically assembled to treat waters with high salinity:
In the first phase, the different parts of the DAF are assembled, in this case, made of iron (Photos 1 and 2).

Once this assembly is finished, hydraulic tests are carried out to check the tightness of the equipment, penetrating liquid tests to detect possible micropores in the welding process (Photo 3) and radiographs to check the good finish of the welded parts.

If all the tests are satisfactory, the blasting is continued (Photo 4), consisting of propelling air at high pressure against the DAF surface to remove impurities.

This operation facilitates the grip of the polyester layer inside the DAF (Photo 5) as well as improving the application of paint on the outside (Photo 6).

Once painted, all the auxiliaries are assembled (Photo 7) and various maneuvers are checked, such as the operation of the chains with the scraper blades.
In this video you can see the functional check test of the scraper blades of the DAF-FPHF350, thus ruling out possible machining and automation errors.
