Dissolved-air flotation systems made of polypropylene

Dissolved Air Flotation System for Treating Corrosive Effluents

  • From 5 to 250 m³/h
  • Resistant to corrosion and rust
  • Made of polypropylene

DAF systems made of polypropylene are ideal for industries that generate corrosive wastewater, as polypropylene offers excellent resistance to chemicals, acids, and other corrosive substances.

DAF units made of polypropylene offer the same performance as those made of stainless steel for separating solids, oils, fats, and other contaminants. They are ideal for harsh environments that require an efficient, reliable, and durable solution for treating corrosive wastewater.

Polypropylene (PP) is a versatile thermoplastic with high rigidity and strength. It is a chemically inert material that does not react with any chemicals when directly exposed to them and does not absorb moisture from its surroundings.

For treating volumes of corrosive wastewater exceeding 250 m³/h, we recommend dissolved air flotation (DAF) systems made of shot-blasted and painted carbon steel. For non-corrosive effluents, we offer a wide range of DAF systems made of stainless steel.

All of our models, including our compact units, can be manufactured from polypropylene.

  • More efficient and cost-effective management of wastewater that cannot be treated using equipment made from standard materials.
  • Ideal for DAF systems that require high durability and chemical resistance.
  • They do not react to exposure to chemicals
  • They offer high resistance to wastewater containing chemicals.
  • Resistant to weak inorganic acids, organic acids, alcohols, ammonia, or oxidizing salts
  • They do not absorb the moisture around them, preventing the equipment from rusting.

Advantages of DAF systems made of polypropylene

The advantages described below are particularly relevant when wastewater is corrosive and can affect stainless steel. In these types of applications, polypropylene construction offers greater chemical resistance and a longer service life.

On the other hand, when the effluent does not exhibit significant chemical aggressiveness, we recommend constructing the DAF unit out of stainless steel due to its excellent balance of performance, durability, and cost.

  • Corrosion resistance: DAF systems made of polypropylene can withstand chemically aggressive conditions without degrading, making them ideal for industrial applications involving chemicals or corrosive environments.
  • Lightweight and easy to install: Polypropylene is a lightweight material due to its low density, which makes DAF equipment easy to handle, transport, and install.
  • Easy maintenance: DAF systems made of polypropylene require minimal maintenance, as they do not need to be painted regularly to prevent corrosion.
  • Lower cost: Polypropylene is a more economical option than stainless steel.
  • Durability: Its ability to withstand impacts and mechanical stress, combined with its resistance to chemicals and fluctuating temperatures, makes it a smart investment for companies that produce corrosive effluents and seek to reduce their long-term operating costs.

WHY CHOOSE A DAF SYSTEM MADE OF POLYPROPYLENE?

DAF systems made of polypropylene combine the efficiency of dissolved-air flotation with high resistance to corrosion and to numerous chemicals present in industrial wastewater. This design makes them a particularly suitable solution for treating aggressive or corrosive effluents, providing greater equipment durability and reducing maintenance needs associated with material degradation.
