DAF Systems for Seawater Desalination Plants

DAF Systems for Seawater Desalination Plants

Our DAF systems for seawater pretreatment have been specifically designed to operate continuously in desalination plants, where high salinity, constant humidity, and harsh environmental conditions require equipment of the highest reliability.
To ensure maximum strength and service life, the DAF system tank is manufactured from carbon steel and undergoes a shot blasting and painting process using a surface coating specifically certified for marine environments. The materials used in construction also include superduplex stainless steel and engineering plastics for other parts and components of the DAF equipment.
In addition to the DAF equipment, we also design and manufacture the coagulation-flocculation unit to facilitate the separation of algae and other solids.
We also offer polypropylene DAF systems for treating corrosive industrial wastewater and stainless steel DAF systems for non-corrosive effluents

Features of DAF Systems for desalination plants

DAF vehicles built for highly corrosive marine environments
Our DAF systems for desalination plants are manufactured with a high-strength carbon steel tank protected by a coating system that is specifically certified for marine applications.
Carbon steel provides superior structural strength against high pressures and large volumes of water, while the coating is designed exclusively to neutralize the chemical attack of marine chloride.
The remaining components that come into contact with water can be made of superduplex stainless steel, offering excellent resistance to localized corrosion and a long service life even in environments with high chloride concentrations.
High-Performance Surface Protection System
Before applying the protective coating, all surfaces of the tank undergo ashot-blasting process, which completely removes rust and impurities and creates the necessary surface roughness to maximize the adhesion of the paint system.
A multi-layer coating system certified for marine environments is then applied, creating a highly resistant protective barrier against seawater, constant moisture, and saline atmospheres.

Advantages of DAF systems made of carbon steel
The use of dissolved-air flotation systems in the pretreatment stage provides significant technical and economic benefits for desalination plants.

WHY CHOOSE THE CARBON STEEL DAF SYSTEM?
Dissolved-air flotation (DAF) systems made of carbon steel play a key role in the pretreatment of seawater. Their function is to remove algae, suspended solids, oils, fats, and organic matter that could cause premature fouling of the membranes.
Efficient pretreatment improves the quality of the feedwater, reduces the frequency of chemical cleanings, minimizes operating costs, and increases the availability of the desalination plant.
