SIGMADAF present at the 4th International Technical Seminar

Last September 30, 2021 was held the IV International Technical Seminar: Water Management in Agri-Food Industries, organized by AINIA and in which SIGMADAF participated for the first time as a sponsor of the event, together with other important engineering companies.

The seminar was held at the Valencia Technology Park with the objective of redesigning the production processes of the agri-food industry, with the aim of avoiding wastewater and considering all liquid flows generated as a source of reuse resources.

It was also attended by representatives of the most important competent institutions related to water, such as the Public Entity for Wastewater Treatment of the Valencian Community (EPSAR), the Spanish Association for Sustainable Water Reuse (ASERSA), the Technology Platform "Food for Life-Spain", as well as various private companies and technology providers.

Current challenges in water management

During the day there were a total of 12 presentations and some round tables, in which they discussed some of the current challenges of water management in the agribusiness sector, among which were:

  • Reuse of wastewater and process water.
  • Regeneration and reuse as part of the company's integrated water management.
  • Recovery and revaluation of waste flow resources.

As a relevant conclusion, according to a press release issued by AINIA, circular economy and technological innovation are key points for sustainable water management in the food industry.

Seminar attendees were also able to visit the technological exhibitors' area, where SIGMADAF had a space to showcase its industrial wastewater solutions.
