Tertiary treatment for the reuse of wastewater from the malt-processing industry

Year: 2019
Project location: BOORTMALT S.A. wastewater treatment plant at its facilities in Ica, Peru.
Objectives: BOORTMALT has treatment facilities for its discharges. These facilities are working properly and the treated water is required to reach sufficient discharge values for reuse. SIGMA designs and installs a treatment for water reuse.
Capacity: 600 m3 / day.

Scenario

BOORTMALT is the world's leading malt processing company, with a production capacity of 3 million tons per year.

Thanks to the installation of SIGMA's tertiary treatment, the following objectives are met to reuse the treated water in the customer's industrial processes:

  • Availability of water for reuse that meets the requested requirements.
  • Optimization of operating and operating costs of the existing water treatment plant.
  • The installation has a minimal impact on the environment.
  • Ability to adapt to future installation and production conditions.
