Treatment and reuse of wastewater from the textile industry

Scenario

Wastewater from the textile industry is characterized by high suspended solids, COD, color and turbidity. There is a growing need for water reuse, which involves the removal of these contaminants using high-performance technology.

SIGMA designs and installs intensive and efficient treatment processes that include advanced technologies to meet reuse quality requirements. In the case of ACAPERSA, SIGMA designs and builds the pre-treatment of the process waste effluent. This pre-treatment consists of a physical-chemical process, consisting of a coagulation and flocculation system, followed by a DAF FPBC CPF model.

The pre-treatment designed and installed by SIGMA achieves COD removal efficiencies of 90%, suspended solids removal of 95% and turbidity and color removal of 96%. These high performances are achieved thanks to the correct dosing of reagents and the special design of the FPBC-CPF equipment.

The dosage of reagents is established through Jar-Test tests with samples of the wastewater. In the case of ACAPERSA, Aluminum Polychloride and a cationic polyelectrolyte with an optimum affinity for suspended solids and particles present in the water are applied.
